Meet our ‘Hero’ Elephant
Although the herd won’t be arriving in Bridport, West Bay, and Lyme Regis until spring 2025, the very first elephant in our stampede has been unveiled.
Called ‘Waves of Emotion’, the sculpture was designed by Dorset artist Anissa Lee, who is also part of the Marketing and Communications team at Weldmar Hospicecare.
Anissa worked with attendees of Weldmar’s Wellbeing Support Sessions – which include patients, their carers, and loved ones receiving bereavement support – to come up with ideas and inspiration for the design. Known as our ‘Hero’ sculpture, Waves of Emotion will be on show at the charity’s Inpatient Unit in Dorchester, and making special appearances at key moments and events in the build up to the live trail.
