A very special herd of elephants has arrived in Bridport, West Bay, and Lyme Regis! See them until 26th May!
The area has been transformed into vibrant, fun, and free art trail that local families and visitors will never forget. More than thirty large striking and colourful elephants will be waiting to be discovered, each designed and painted by talented artists. The trail will conclude with each sculpture being auctioned for charity. Baby elephants – our Mini Herd – have also found their way into local shops and businesses in the area.
Stampede by the Sea is raising funds for Weldmar Hospicecare, who provide specialist end of life care for local adults with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.
Important information to share
Trail HQ in West Bay
Please be aware that our Trail HQ in West Bay closes on Wednesday 21st May. After that date, completion certificates, merchandise, and milestone gifts can be collected from the Weldmar Hospicecare shops in Bridport and Lyme Regis.
The last official full day of the the trail is Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May. Our elephants will be moving out of Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis during the following day.
Don’t forget, you’ll be able to see all of our sculptures at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester from 14th to 18th June. Get your tickets for the final gathering of the herd!
Stampede by the Sea is LIVE! An exciting eight week art trail featuring almost sixty elephants across Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis, followed by a Farewell Event exhibition, and concluding with your opportunity to give an elephant a forever home at our Auction.
Last year, 247 people received care from Weldmar Hospicecare in Bridport, West Bay, Lyme Regis and the surrounding area, and more than 1,500 in total across Dorset.
Weldmar’s compassionate approach treats every person as an individual, and their team includes nurses, doctors, carers, therapists, counsellors, social workers and more, who are there during every step of one of life’s most difficult journeys.
All of Weldmar’s care is provided for free. Stampede by the Sea will not only help raise vital funds to continue these services, but increase the awareness of how they help – a subject which is often ‘the elephant in the room’.
GIVE A FOREVER HOME TO RAINBOW! The striking baby elephant from our Mini Herd is the prize in our raffle, with all proceeds going to Weldmar Hospicecare – every ticket will help them provide specialist care for local adults who have a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.
He`s fun, bright, colourful, and a little bit sparkly, and can also be seen in the window of Gunz Barbers on East Street, Bridport until Monday 26th May!
