Our Stampede by the Sea art trail is a fun, family friendly, vibrant event featuring almost sixty brightly coloured elephants! From 28th March to 27th May, the herd will be seen in Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis, before a final gathering at the Corn Exchange in Dorchester from 14th to 18th June. Itβs all to raise funds and awareness for Weldmar Hospicecare.
Whilst many of the elephants will find their forever homes at a very special auction, and those designed by local schools will be returned to them to keep, you could win your very own Stampede by the Sea sculpture by entering our raffle!
Not only could you win your very own piece of the trail, but every ticket sold will help Weldmar to continue to provide specialist end of life care for local adults with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.
Rainbow has been created by father and daughter team Jay and Minty Stevenson, and can be seen on the trail at Gunz Barbers on East Street in Bridport. This striking design features rainbow stripes, some glitter, and pearly toes!
Tickets are on sale from 28th March to 20th June, 2025.
Get your ticket here and support Weldmar Hospicecare today.

WOULD YOU VOLUNTEER WITH US?
We have some amazing people volunteering for Stampede by the Sea. Just as with anything Weldmar Hospicecare does, individuals who give their time play a crucial role in helping things happen.
We have some `Herd Hero` shifts available in Bridport towards the end of the trail. This role involves providing the sculptures with a clean and a little TLC if needed, and reporting any problems or damage. Youβll also answer questions about the trail or Weldmar Hospicecare, or direct people on where to find the answers they need on the app or website. Working in pairs, the shifts are 10am-12pm and 1-3pm.
We`d love to hear from you if you`d be interested in finding out more. Please click the contact button to get in touch.

SCULPTURE #7: THE POWER OF PLANKTON
Located alongside the iconic beach huts in West Bay, The Power of Plankton has been created for Stampede by the Sea by Bridport based artist, Terry Whitworth and is sponsored by @inthebagpr.
Terry says: "This design celebrates the diverse, colourful and beautiful microscopic organisms that live in our oceans. There are an estimated half a million species, essential to other life on Earth. Highly sensitive to the slightest changes in their environment, they must be protected at all costs. They of course share an awesome beauty with one of the Earthβs largest mammals."
Collect The Power of Plankton on the Stampede by the Sea app, and you could win a family ticket to Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park, courtesy of In The Bag PR! Just tap in the four digit code you`ll find at the sculpture, and find details of the reward.
The Power of Plankton will join all of the elephants in our herd at our Farewell Event at Dorchester Corn Exchange this June, and you can bid for it at our Auction on June 19th.
Find out more about the sculpture and artist on our website, as well as how to get tickets to our Farewell Event and register your interest in the Auction.
