The impact of Stampede by the Sea’s schools programme highlighted by ITV
Date published: 18 February 2025
A key element of Weldmar Hospicecare’s Stampede by the Sea is the Learning Programme. Local schools not only decorate their own elephant for the art trail, but also benefit from a number of learning resources. This includes training for teachers in dealing with ‘the elephant in the room’ – children who are experiencing grief and loss.
ITV Meridian News visited the Prince of Wales School in Dorchester to find out more, and also spoke to Teddy – who was supported by the charity’s Children and Young Person’s Counsellor when her mum was taken into their care.
Our Learning Programme is proudly supported by Wessex Internet.
