Paul has been lovingly created by Year 4 children, with the help of local artist Chris Desborough-Miller. The children were inspired to design an elephant with flavours of Sri Lanka, linked to the story The Girl Who Stole an Elephant, which they are currently studying. Together, the class researched the country, immersed themselves in traditional colours and patterns and used the expertise of two Sri Lankan classmates to bring the project to life. Paul encapsulates the values of Beechcroft: Hope, Respect and Wisdom, which the children showed in abundance when taking part in his creation. Our little elephant is particularly special to our school community, as he is named after our Site Manager Paul who received care from Weldmar Hospicecare  this year. He was known for his loud presence around the school, so taking part in a Stampede seemed very fitting!
