Sunny has been made from a variety of jungle print tissue paper squares. We asked the children to design some elephant pictures with different animal prints where they cut and stick their chosen patterns. As a collective, we used these ideas to camouflage him with different prints. We made the tiger print head and continued with his croc print back. The children loved decorating the elephant and watching their ideas come to life in 3D. During the process, we spoke about our feelings and what those different feelings might be linked to and what we can do to support ourselves and our peers. The staff team thought that with the whole process being to ‘address the elephant in the room’, we could look at his new skin as a way of camouflaging our emotions when we need to and how we adapt to different situations.
